Henry and Mary may have divorced or Henry died when he was about 33 yea rs old I think Mary Ashford Winsor next married John Baker on 19 Nov 1770 in Paig nton, Devon. This is where all the confusion as to where John Winsor a nd Nancy Baker are t he parents of George Winsor in the Pedigree charts sub mitted by William Winsor to the Linn County Genealogy Society started. Jo hn Baker would have been Henry Winsor's (b: 14 Dec 1736) Step-fathe r. I believe this is where the name of John Bake r Winsor comes in. Hen ry and Catherine Spreat named their 3rd child after his Step-father John B aker. There are two John Baker Winsors. One was born on 6 Aug 1805 in Stoke Fle ming - George's brother. I think he and his brother Henry were ki ll ed in the Battle of Navarino, 1827 , naval battle resulting from the inter vention of the European powers in the Greek War of Independence from the Ottoman Empire (Turkey). He is George Winsor's (b:1796) brother . The other John Baker Winso r is the 4th child of George and Mary Couch Winsor...the line Leanne Wiese descends from. As far as Nancy Baker being the Mother of George goes, I think the name Nancy has been confused or mistrued from Henry 's (b: 1736) mother's na me of Agne s (Metherell) Winsor who was also married to a John (b: 1702), H enry's (b: 1736) father.
