General Notes:
My father, Archibald McCollum Wilsey, was born in the State of New York, I think near Utica, in 1800, the youngest child of quite a large family. His father was of Welch Dutch descent, his ancestors were some of the early settlers of New Amsterdam, NY
1820 - He went to Madison County, New York, where he married. He inherited half of his father's farm in 1826 and remained there before moving to Nauvoo with the Mormons
1843 - The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints says that he resided at Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, in the mid 1840s. He journeyed west with the Saints but returned to Newark, Ill. where he spent most of his remaining years
1859 - Archibald M. Wilsey joined the RLDS in 1859 when Joseph Smith III was sustained as their prophet. He was ordained president of the First Quorum of the Seventy in April 1860.
Archibald married Pheobe Manchester, daughter of Jacob Manchester and Elizabeth Simmons, in 1820 in Hamilton, Madison, New York, USA. (Pheobe Manchester was born on July 31, 1801 in Madison, Madison, New York, USA, died on December 6, 1844 in Fox, Kendall Co, Illinois, USA and was buried in Millington Newark Cemetery, Millington, Kendall Co, Illinois.)
Archibald next married Elisabeth Wilsey on January 1, 1871 in Kendall, Illinois, USA. (Elisabeth Wilsey was born about 1795 in Pennsylvania, USA and died on September 29, 1884 in Gravelly, Sullivan Co., Tennessee, USA.)
